Craig Cooning, Boeing N&SS President, Selected to Wash100 for Space Sector Leadership

Craig Cooning

Executive Mosaic is glad to unveil Craig Cooning, president of Boeing‘s network and space systems business, as the newest inductee into the Wash100 — a group of influential leaders in the government contracting industry.

Cooning took the role in July 2014 and manages the company’s space exploration, missile defense, satellite communications and cybersecurity areas.

He succeeded another Wash100 inductee: Roger Krone, now the CEO of Leidos.

Current programs under Cooning’s leadership include the Space Launch System, the Wideband Global SATCOM system and the Ground-based Midcourse Defense system, which underwent a revamp late last year to include similar functions and procedures to those in space programs.

He also oversees the Boeing unit responsible for the company’s CST-100 space capsule, which the company will use to help NASA transport astronauts between Earth and the International Space Station under a contract program worth up to $4.2 billion to Boeing and $2.4 billion to the program’s other awardee SpaceX.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Craig Cooning and the Boeing team for their selection to receive this award.
