Chairman of the Board
CACI International Inc
Executive Mosaic is glad to announce Jack London, executive chairman at CACI International, as the newest inductee into the Wash100 — a group of influential leaders in the government contracting industry.
The 43-year CACI veteran has chaired the company’s board of directors since 1990 and held the executive chairman role since 2007, when he retired from the CEO post after 23 years.
In the 1990s, he led CACI’s shift from a professional services consulting company to a focused IT and communications provider, as well as its entry into the intelligence community and information security markets as part of his “New Era” business strategy.
London also established the mergers and acquisitions program at CACI in 1992, which has resulted in approximately 50 completed M&A transactions such as the $550 million purchase of the Defense and Intelligence Group and the $415 million acquisition American Management Systems.
CACI made its largest-ever purchase in 2013 with the $892 million purchase of security technology contractor Six3 Systems in a push to grow in the cybersecurity and C4ISR markets.
London wrote in a Jan. 7 guest post on ExecutiveBiz that he considers character a critical factor for the success of both individuals and organizations amid future challenges.
“At both an individual and an organizational level, we need a committed and sustained effort to make a change – and to keep a strong emphasis on doing the right thing,” he said.
“We need to reestablish an unshakable focus on the values of honesty, trust, integrity and accountability.”
Those ideas are built into his 2013 book “Character: The Ultimate Success Factor,” where he explains his perspective on how “while a variety of factors form our abilities and influence the events in our lives, character is the key to long-term success.”
London is a recipient of many industry honors and is both a 2012 GovCon Hall of Fame inductee and 2010 Washington Business Hall of Fame inductee.
Executive Mosaic offers its congratulations to Jack London and the CACI team for their selection to receive this award.
