Mike Dignam, PAE President, Joins Wash100 Ranks as Leader in ‘Smart Power’ and International Business
Executive Mosaic is honored to announce Mike Dignam, president at PAE, as the newest inductee into the Wash 100, the premier group of leaders who create value for the American public and execute strategic vision at the intersection of the public and private sectors.
Dignam joined PAE as president in April 2011 when private equity firm Lindsay Goldberg purchased the company from Lockheed Martin.
Dignam had earlier led the creation and development of Lockheed’s readiness and stability operations, and served as president of the RSO organization, which provided “smart power logistics” in support of the U.S. government’s “Defense, Diplomacy and Development” mission and housed PAE prior to the 2011 deal.
“The U.S. understands that today’s wars cannot be fought with military force alone, but require tools of diplomacy and development, which are often more effective in addressing the root causes of violence and civil disorder,” Dignam told GovCon Exec for a piece analyzing growth opportunities for contractors in the “Rule of Law” space.
“We have seen firsthand how rule of law is critical to stability and development, and we believe that the U.S. and other countries will continue to recognize this through their support of these initiatives.”
Dignam is the Chairman Emeritus of the Corporate Council on Africa Board of Directors, and has helped continue PAE’s long history of work with U.S. and international customers abroad, including its 14 years of support to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and more than 8 years of work with the U.S. State Department’s international narcotics and law enforcement affairs mission.
Dignam is also positioning the firm to extend its geographic footprint and expand government portfolio, with its summer 2013 pick up of CSC’s applied technology division, which provides services to government customers including the Defense Department and NASA, and its 2011 deal for Defense Support Services LLC, a former Lockheed and Day & Zimmermann aviation maintenance and logistics joint venture.
“Over the past two years and with the acquisition of Defense Support Services, PAE has doubled in size and made significant investments in its business infrastructure,” Dignam said in February 2013 when announcing PAE’s move to new corporate headquarters in Arglington, Va.
“It was time to mark a new era for PAE with a new working environment. This building is customized for how our teams operate and built with the flexibility to support future growth,” he added.
Executive Mosaic extends its congratulations to Mike and the rest of the PAE organization.
