SVP, Government Operations
Boeing Defense, Space & Security
Executive Mosaic is honored to announce Timothy Keating, senior vice president of government operations at Boeing, as the newest inductee into the Wash 100, the premier group of leaders who create value for the American public and execute strategic vision at the intersection of the public and private sectors.
Keating joined Boeing in May 2008 and is responsible for the company’s public policy efforts, including liaison operations will all levels of U.S. government. He had previously led Honeywell’s firm-wide government relations program and as SVP of global government relations, which included oversight of offices in Washington, Canada, Belgium, India and China.
Keating began his career on Capitol Hill and served as an assistant floor manager for the Democratic leadership within the U.S. House of Representatives between 1986 and 1992, when he would go on to serve on the transition team for the confirmation of President Clinton’s Cabinet.
He would play an active role in negotiations surrounding the 1995 government shutdown and 1997 budget agreement with then-Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and serve as special assistant to the President and staff director for White House Legislative Affairs.
A 2012 Politico profile noted that even while defense spending issues loom large for his firm, Keating keeps his focus “on the big picture” and is looking to better align the international community and American public with the U.S.’ government and lawmakers by pushing Washington to address fiscal reform, entitlement spending and the tax code.
“You prepare years, not days, in advance,” he had earlier told the Washington Business Journal.
In addition to serving on Boeing’s executive council, Keating serves on the board of the National Association of Manufacturers, the advisory board for the Center for International and Strategic Studies, and the Trust for the National Mall, among many other organizations.
“The National Mall is home to all Americans – a place to celebrate our heritage and pay respect to our nation’s heroes,” Keating told ExecutiveBiz. “It’s an evolving national treasure and on this Fourth of July, it needs our support.”
Executive Mosaic extends its congratulations to Timothy and the rest of the Boeing organization.
