Executive Mosaic is pleased to introduce Andrew Fairbanks of IBM as an inductee into the 2016 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of influential leaders in the government contracting arena.
Fairbanks serves as the vice president IBM’s U.S. public sector services business unit that according to the company provides more than $1.5 billion annually in cloud, analytics, consulting, and technology services to federal, state & local, higher education, commercial healthcare clients.
The IBM U.S. public sector services business unit helps clients define and implement solutions around mobile, cloud, cognitive computing, and internet of things to improve internal operations and mission effectiveness.
In 2016, Fairbanks helped lead the deployment of IBM’s FedRAMP-certified data centers and the IBM Managed Services for Government DoD Cloud Offering, the first certified compliant solution at DISA Impact Level 5.
Fairbanks has also helped lead IBM’s roll out of Design Thinking and Agile capabilities, which helps Public Sector organizations accelerate their transformation to digital operations.
The nearly 20-year company veteran previously served as a senior project executive for the U.S. Army’s $453 million eArmyU distance learning program.
EArmyU seeks to help uniformed personnel worldwide obtain post-secondary degrees by providing them online access to more than 1,400 courses offered by 29 educational institutions.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
