Executive Mosaic is honored to introduce Nadia Short, vice president of enterprise strategy at General Dynamics Mission Systems, as an inductee into the 2017 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of influential leaders in the government contracting arena.
Short oversees strategic planning and cross-company alignment efforts at GDMS, a business unit within the Falls Church, Va.-based defense contractor’s information systems and technology segment.
In January of this year, GDMS started to accept orders for its autonomous underwater vehicle – Bluefin SandShark – designed to perform intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
A month prior to that, the business began to offer direct fiber optic network connections for its Sectera vIPer universal phones that seek to ensure security of voice calls and data transmission.
GDMS secured in October 2016 a potential three-year, $125.6 million follow-on contract for program management and system maintenance services on the U.S. Coast Guard’s Rescue 21 command, control and communications platform designed to help the service branch perform search-and-rescue missions.
Short previously served as VP and general manager of the cyber systems line at GDMS prior to her current role.
Her 20-year career at General Dynamics has included roles such as VP and GM for the cyber and intelligence solutions division of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems and director of strategy and business development at General Dynamics C4 Systems’ information assurance division.
GDAIS and GDC4S combined operations in January 2015 to form the unit now known as General Dynamics Mission Systems.
The former U.S. Army veteran is a member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Nadia Short and the General Dynamics team for their selection to receive this award.
This year represents our fifth annual Wash100 award selection. The Wash100 is the premier group of private and public sector leaders selected by Executive Mosaic's organizational and editorial leadership as the most influential leaders in the GovCon sector. These leaders demonstrate skills in leadership, innovation, achievement, and vision.
