About Wash100
Established in 2014, the Wash100 comprises the most significant and impactful executives in the government contracting sector. This elite group is hand-picked annually by Executive Mosaic’s organizational and editorial leadership after a careful and competitive review process. Wash100 is a forward-looking celebration, singling out those who EM feels are most poised to achieve great things in the coming year. The individuals recognized are also selected for their consistent accomplishments in leadership, innovation and vision.
Once the list of 100 honorees are announced in January, readers and supporters are encouraged to visit wash100.com to place your votes for your 10 favorite candidates. This will determine the winner of the ranking in April — though if an executive makes this list in the first place, of course, they are already noteworthy.
From January to April, EM stages a grand rollout for the awardees, in which we present each recipient with their trophy and extoll their virtues in individualized articles that discuss the career history that brought them to this esteemed perch.

Wash100 Award Founder
Lifelong friend of the GovCon sector Jim Garrettson founded the Wash100 Award. Garrettson is the CEO and president of Executive Mosaic, the premier media company and networking forum that he incepted in 2002. EM exclusively serves the GovCon industry through essential, informational in-person and virtual events and a trio of internet-based news outlets that rigorously cover different aspects of the industry. Garrettson is also responsible for the Potomac Officers Club, a member organization dedicated to “weaving an executive fabric that benefits our local business community.”
