SDA Awards $224M PWSA Support Contract to QinetiQ; Shawn Purvis Quoted

The Space Development Agency has awarded QinetiQ US a five-year, $224 million systems engineering and technical assistance contract to support the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, a low-Earth orbit satellite mesh network that will deliver secured communications and missile warning and tracking capabilities to the United States and its allies.

Under the firm-fixed price contract, QinetiQ will provide management support, engineering and technical analysis to enable the quick delivery of PWSA services to warfighters.

"This award further expounds on our long-term commitment to the space mission," QinetiQ US President and CEO Shawn Purvis, a three-time Wash100 awardee, said in a statement. "We are proud to be continuing our partnership with SDA to advance mission operations of this critical space program in support of our warfighter."

According to Steve Iwicki, executive vice president of QinetiQ US space initiatives and defense technologies and solutions portfolio, the company is committed to ensuring it delivers the right technical solutions to enhance mission success and support SDA's full program life cycle.
