David-Zolet

Executive Mosaic is honored to announce David Zolet, executive vice president and general manager of CSC’s North American public sector, as the newest inductee into the Washington 100, the premier group of leaders who drive innovation and growth at the intersection of the public and private sectors.

Zolet joined CSC’s NA public sector in 2010 in an executive business development role and quickly elevated to his current position to fill in for the retiring James Sheaffer.

“This came at a time when the company began its transformation,” Zolet told GovCon Exec.

“Although the role is both challenging and rewarding, for me, it represents an exciting opportunity to help a good company become great.”

A former VP and partner for systems integration at IBM, and long-time Northrop leader in positions including SVP for enterprise architecture, and president of defense operations, Zolet is playing a formative role in CSC’s firm-wide transformation plans, and is executing a strategy he developed with his leadership team for IT and mission services.

“We developed an operating model that focuses on providing consistent delivery and standardized repeatable solutions,” Zolet said, adding that he has made investments in big data, cloud, cyber and other next-generation technologies to “support our plans for growth and leadership position.”

“This refined model drives a disciplined approach for delivering commercial best practices and aligns our people internally to bring innovative solutions that lower costs while improving productivity.”

“This focus is critical to our success—and more importantly—to our customers’ missions.”

As CSC now “pivots our focus to growth,” Zolet said the Falls Church, Va.-based contractor’s emphasis is on people – both inside the company, and within customer organizations.

“The transformation is designed to offer opportunities for growth and collaboration. Employees are able to get involved and really demonstrate their leadership skills.”

“I always say that leadership is a contact sport, and our team is really embracing this and using it to our advantage.”

And more than just the transformation, he sees that as a core driver of the company’s success in the future.

“I’m most excited to see the future of CSC. I’m eager to look back and be more amazed than I am now—and to know that our people have achieved great things for the company and the missions we support.”

“We have invested in our coverage community to allow us to better engage with our clients. This investment is critical to our growth.”
