David Zolet, President & CEO of the Logistics Management Institute, named to the 2018 Wash100 for Leadership in Expanding ‘Information Superiority’

Executive Mosaic is pleased to announce that David Zolet, President & CEO of the Logistics Management Institute, as an inductee to the 2018 edition of the Wash100 — Executive Mosaic’s annual selection of the most influential voices in the government contracting arena — for his work on defining information superiority and assuring dominance on the battlefield.
The Logistic Management Institute–a consulting firm composed of specialists dedicated to improving the management of government in logistics, information technology and resource allocation–is an organization dedicated to helping the government harness cutting-edge technologies.
Run by CEO and President David Zolet, LMI’s efforts on using the next generation of technologies such as cloud computing, big data analytics, mobility and cybersecurity on modernizing their IT systems has significantly bolstered the Defense sector in embracing private clouds for use by our nation’s warfighters.
“As our client base continues to expand, we are focusing on larger, long-term opportunities to bolster our ability to serve the government,” Zolet said in an address and live-stream delivered at the Atlantic Council Captains of Industry series.
Zolet remarks that next-gen technologies are essential to what he calls “Information Superiority,” which is the securing of real-time information using strengthening methods of integrated networks built to contend with adversaries across multiple domains on and off the battlefield.
“I believe there [are] three key components for assuring information superiority: next-generation technologies; the as-a-Service business model; and a flexible acquisition and strong program management,” he stated. “Secure access to mission data and enterprise services [is] essential to information superiority. Only cloud computing–distributed over a network–offers the capacity, efficiency and agility you need.”
Zolet is a big believer in the future of technologized bodies like that of cloud infrastructure, especially for use by the DoD and associated organizations in rationalizing its IT portfolio with respect to cutting costs and making substantial gains in performance.
“It’s important to note that the transition to cloud computing is not made overnight,” he said. “DoD organizations first need to identify and assess their current IT, consolidate and streamline it, and then virtualize their IT environments. To supplement long-term contracts, [Defense] can turn to the vibrant spot market for cloud services.”
With over 30 years of serving the federal government, Zolet’s corporate experience in general management, business development, engineering, strategic planning and M&A activity speaks volumes about his record of achievement in managing operations and delivering results. He comes to LMI from DXC Technology (formerly CSC) after excelling in executive roles for the North American Public Sector, building on his impressive resume of long-term executive leadership at IBM and Northrop Grumman.
Executive Mosaic congratulates David Zolet and his team at LMI for their selection to receive this award.
