Career & Background

With over 26 years at Booz Allen Hamilton, Inserra has built a career dedicated to transformative initiatives in aerospace, defense and technology-driven government solutions. She holds a bachelor of science in industrial engineering from Penn State University and has applied her expertise to leading large-scale, mission-critical programs that enhance national security.

Her tenure at Booz Allen has seen her progress through leadership roles that emphasize strategic growth and operational efficiency. Most recently, in December 2024, Booz Allen announced her promotion to president of its Global Defense Sector, a role she will assume on April 1. In this position, she will lead defense-focused technology and consulting efforts, succeeding longtime executive Judi Dotson.

Key Initiatives

Throughout her career, Inserra has been instrumental in developing and executing high-impact strategies for government clients. Her work spans digital modernization, cybersecurity, space systems engineering and artificial intelligence solutions. Under her leadership, Booz Allen has strengthened its role as a trusted partner for defense agencies and civilian organizations.

One of her key accomplishments involves overseeing Booz Allen’s space and missile defense initiatives. She played a vital role in securing a $630 million contract with the U.S. Space Force to integrate and support space-based missile warning systems. This contract focuses on engineering and integrating space sensing systems that will enhance the United States’ missile warning and tracking capabilities.

Additionally, Inserra has driven cybersecurity and privacy advancements through Booz Allen’s federal contracts. In a major move to enhance government cybersecurity infrastructure, NASA awarded the firm a contract to provide cybersecurity and privacy services, further reinforcing Booz Allen’s position as a leader in protecting critical space and aeronautics systems.

Her leadership has also extended to cross-agency modernization efforts. She has spearheaded programs that integrate artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and secure data analytics to improve decision-making processes for the Department of Defense and intelligence agencies.
