Executive Mosaic is pleased to announce the inclusion of Andy Green, an executive vice president at HII and president of the HII Mission Technologies division, in the 2025 class of the Wash100 Award, an accolade conferred annually to the 100 most influential and impactful leaders in the government contracting industry.
Choose Andy Green as your favorite GovCon industry leader. Join the 2025 Wash100 Popular Vote Competition. Voting closes on April 30.
This marks the seventh time that Andy Green has been selected to Executive Mosaic’s annual list of the top 100 leaders from the government and GovCon business, recognizing his leadership in driving strategic growth through business realignment efforts and major contract wins.
“Andy’s leadership at HII Mission Technologies has been a model of consistency and impact. Now a seven-time Wash100 winner, he has spent nearly 15 years with HII and has led its Mission Technologies division since 2016—guiding the company through major transformations, including last year’s reorganization into four operational groups,” said Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 Award.
“Under Andy’s direction, HII has landed significant Navy and Air Force contracts while continuing to drive innovation in C5ISR, big data, unmanned systems, electronic warfare, space and more. Andy’s steady hand and strategic vision make him a cornerstone of the GovCon industry,” added Garrettson.
Reorganization of HII Mission Technologies
In October 2024, Green’s HII Mission Technologies division embarked on a reorganization effort, combining its six operational groups into four to achieve long-term business growth.
In alignment with a common operating model, HII Mission Technologies now operates with four operational groups: all-domain operations, global security, warfare systems and uncrewed systems groups as part of efforts
“I’m confident these changes will make us even more competitive, improve the quality of our services for our customers, and ensure the long-term health of our business,” Green said of the business realignment.
“Our growth is unprecedented within HII — but not unexpected,” he said. “We’ve planned and executed to get to where we are today. It’s up to us to reinvent ourselves for what lies ahead. We are already well on our way.”
This relentless drive to pursue business growth shows in the division’s financial results. In early February, HII announced that Mission Technologies recorded $713 million in Q4 revenues and $2.9 billion in full-year revenues, up 8.8 percent from the prior-year period due to higher volumes in C5ISR and cyber, electronic warfare and space contracts.
Major Contract Wins
Green’s leadership of HII Mission Technologies was marked by major contract awards in 2024. One notable win in the past year is a $6.5 billion contract with the U.S. Air Force for electronic warfare engineering and technical services.
“We have a team of subject matter experts with deep expertise in all aspects of electromagnetic spectrum and electronic warfare, and we are committed to staying a step ahead of our adversaries alongside our customers as the complexity of warfare changes,” the HII executive said of the contract.
The Mission Technologies segment booked a potential $3 billion task order from the Department of Defense for logistics and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, support to help improve joint force capabilities.
“HII is committed to delivering exceptional all-domain solutions to facilitate innovation and advancements at the speed of relevance,” said Green, who was recently named to the Professional Services Council’s executive committee. “We’re pleased for the opportunity to expand our role in support of the warfighter and to continue our collaborative partnerships with teammates, technology accelerators and academia for national security initiatives around the globe.”
DOD also awarded Mission Technologies a $458 million task order to help the department modernize its communications and IT networks to facilitate rapid decision-making on the battlefield.
“We are honored by the customer’s trust in HII and our approach,” the division president said of the award. “As we advance their IT transformation goals, we are committed to delivering cutting-edge expertise and solutions that will have a direct, positive impact on our front-line warfighters.”
The division kicked off 2025 with a major award. In late January, HII Mission Technologies secured a $296 million task order to provide air and space operation support services for the U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces in Africa, or USAFE-AFAFRICA.
Expansion Efforts
In July 2024, HII’s Enlighten subsidiary made a strategic expansion move by opening a new office in Columbia, Maryland, to support big data operations and enhance services for U.S. military and national security agencies.
Commenting on the new hub, Green said, “This expansion allows Enlighten and HII to better serve our clients while also strengthening our presence in a region known for its technological innovation and talent. We look forward to continuing our growth and contributing to the local community.”
Green’s work as head of HII Mission Technologies has been key in driving growth and innovation in support of national security objectives and advancing the rapid delivery of technological capabilities to warfighters at the speed of relevance.
Executive Mosaic congratulates Andy Green and the entire HII Mission Technologies team for this notable achievement.
