The Wash100 Award honors 100 of the most outstanding figures in the government contracting industry. The annual award recognizes these elite leaders’ vision, achievements and future impact.

“Dan has begun making his mark as CEO of Capgemini Government Solutions, stepping into the chief executive role and his first Wash100 Award, after fellow Wash100 awardees Doug Lane and Bill Webner’s successful expansion of Capgemini’s GovCon offerings,” said Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 Award.

“Since taking over last year, Dan has guided Capgemini through exciting new collaborations, including the partnership with DARPA to explore carbon capture using quantum computing. His strategic focus on innovation and his deep understanding of the government sector are driving Capgemini’s continued growth and success. With a proven track record and a forward-thinking approach, Dan is positioning Capgemini Government Solutions for a future filled with transformative opportunities.”

Leading Tech Innovation

Under Ford’s leadership, Capgemini Government Solutions started to investigate the potential of quantum computing in enhancing 5G networks. In May 2024, the company partnered with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to assess the effects of quantum computing on carbon capture.

Highlighting its commitment to 5G, Capgemini– also recognized as one of the five most innovative and notable 5G government contractors— will participate in the Potomac Officers Club’s 2025 5G Summit, where a representative of the company will share their thoughts and expertise on how to accelerate the deployment of Open Radio Access Network tactical networks.

Dan Ford, A Veteran Capgemini Leader

Ford had been with Capgemini for nearly two decades before he was named CEO in July 2024.

During his time as the national security sector leader and head of U.S. federal sectors, Ford guided the company’s growth across civilian, health, national security and defense sectors. In his earlier years at Capgemini, he served as principal client partner, capability leader and portfolio manager.

Furthermore, Ford is instrumental in the company’s M&A activities. He played a key role in the acquisition of VariQ in 2021 and Unity’s Government Professional Services arm in 2024.

Ford’s contributions to Capgemini cannot be discounted as evidenced by his almost 20 years of service highlighted by his appointment as CEO of Capgemini Government Solutions. This and his leadership in developing quantum computing and 5G networks are only few of the reasons why he was conferred the Wash100 recognition.

Executive Mosaic congratulates Dan Ford, along with the Capgemini Government Solutions team, for being honored as a Wash100 winner and one of the industry’s most influential leaders. Cast your vote for him at Wash100.com.
