Commenting on Setian’s fourth Wash100 Award, Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic, said, “I’m pleased to welcome Julian back to the Wash100; this is Julian’s fourth award. His leadership at SOSi continues to steer the company toward increased critical national security work, from supporting State Department operations in the Middle East to providing declassification and records management services for the Army. Julian has also been vocal about the role of AI in federal law enforcement, ensuring SOSi continues to increase market share in emerging technologies. Julian is forward-thinking and continually impresses upon his leadership team to demonstrate leading-edge technologies for differentiation in the bustling international GovCon segment.”

SOSi Wins Major Government Contracts

One of SOSi’s notable accomplishments in 2024 is a task order valued at $493 million to support the U.S. Special Operations Command, or SOCOM. The company was selected to provide technical and mission support to SOCOM and other combatant command partners worldwide.

The subcontract includes up to five years of performance, including four additional option years.

SOSi also teamed up with Peraton to deliver network engineering, cyber defense and information assurance to the U.S. Army’s Regional Cyber Center-Europe, or RCC-E, under a contract announced in June 2024. The RCC-E monitors, operates and defends the Department of Defense Information Network, or DODIN, in Europe and Africa.

Highlighting SOSi’s long-time partnership with the U.S. Army, Setian commented, “We offer an unmatched ability to ensure the integrity of the Army’s networks and are proud to partner with Peraton on this critically important program.”

SOSi Opening Opportunities to Veterans

Within his company, Setian has maintained a work environment that honors and supports military veterans as they transition from service to civilian life. SOSi is a company that hires veterans and provides resources to ensure that veterans are well-equipped to build a career outside of the military.

Due to its efforts to support veterans, the company received numerous recognitions from respected organizations, including the Department of Labor, which handed SOSi the 2024 Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award.

The Gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award, under the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act Medallion Program, is the only federal award program that celebrates companies that hire veterans. To win the award, SOSi had to meet rigorous criteria on human resource efforts, compensation and retention percentage.

“At SOSi, we recognize the invaluable contributions of our veteran and military spouse employees, who comprise a quarter of our global workforce,” Setian stated. “We work hard to foster a supportive environment that offers fulfilling career opportunities and empowers them to thrive.”

Julian Setian Guiding Industry on AI Adoption

As one of the U.S. government’s go-to partners for technology support, industry looks to SOSi and its chief executive, Setian, for guidance when it comes to adopting emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence and machine learning.

According to Setian, SOSi is already utilizing AI/ML tools to improve the accuracy and accelerate decision-making in government while ensuring security.

“But to fully realize the benefits of these emerging technologies: sustained investment is needed for updating legacy systems, training civil servants and developing supportive policies,” the executive shared at a March 2024 event. “The key is integrating AI, blockchain, and other innovations natively into government infrastructure workflows.”

Setian’s leadership strengthens SOSi’s position as a reliable partner for the U.S. military as it demonstrated in the past year through multiple contract wins. Executive Mosaic congratulates Setian on winning the 2025 Wash100 Award and is looking forward to witnessing his and his company’s future achievements.
