He also served as chief revenue officer at Saildrone, an unmanned surface vehicle developer based in Alameda, California, from 2020 to 2021.

His resume includes roles at Amazon Web Services, Dell Technologies and Fujitsu Network Communications

Google Public Sector Partnerships

Partnerships are central to Google Public Sector’s approach to delivering new capabilities to government customers.

In April 2024, the company unveiled a new center of excellence established in partnership with Accenture Federal Services. Through the Data and AI Center of Excellence, Google Public Sector and Accenture Federal Services will provide access to artificial intelligence tools, including the enterprise-ready Vertex AI.

The technology companies further expanded their partnership in October when they announced the Federal AI Solution Factory, a collaborative hub to accelerate prototyping and testing AI-powered tools designed to meet the needs of agencies. The collaborative hub, which operates within the Data & AI Center of Excellence, offers Accenture Federal Services’ expertise and human-centered design experience with Google’s generative AI platforms.

Partnerships also enabled Google Public Sector to better serve the needs of federal agencies.

In January 2024, TSPi revealed its R3 nxtData accelerator to modernize the U.S. government’s regulatory food import monitoring processes. According to Vishal Suri, CEO of TSPi, his company worked with Google Public Sector on the nxtData accelerator, which was built on Google Cloud. The technology is equipped with artificial intelligence and machine learning to support decision-making throughout an agency’s modernization and ensure regulatory compliance.

Google Public Sector also worked with TDI in early 2024 to enhance cybersecurity across the Department of Defense. As part of the effort, the companies deployed TDI’s High-Performance Risk Management Framework, or HyPerRMF, to streamline the DOD Risk Management Framework and reduce the time needed for new capabilities to achieve Initial Authorization to Test and Authority to Operate designations.

Google Public Sector Government Service

Merely two years since it was established, Google Public Sector has become a major force in the government contracting industry.

In April, its air-gapped offering Google Distributed Cloud Hosted received authorization to host Top Secret data for the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.

Google Public Sector also secured high authorization for over 100 Google Cloud services under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, or FedRAMP, in May. The achievement enables agencies to choose and use Google Cloud services to support mission requirements.

Bertram’s work in Google Public Sector has been critical to the company’s successes in building strong industry partnerships, stimulating innovation and ensuring that government agencies have access to advanced technologies. Executive Mosaic is honored to include Bertram in the elite class of 2025 Wash100 Award winners.
