Integral Federal’s Wayne Wilkinson Wins 1st Wash100 Award for Boosting Company Expertise, Operational Excellence

Executive Mosaic is pleased to announce that Wayne Wilkinson has won his first-ever Wash100 Award, an honor given out annually in recognition of the 100 most influential and impactful members of the government and government contracting industry.

Wilkinson is the president and CEO of Integral Federal, a provider of intelligence, security, digital and advanced engineering capabilities in support of national security. He joined the company in April 2021 as chief operating officer and was named chief executive a year later, bringing to the role over two decades of financial and operational leadership.

“Wayne’s inspiring leadership has already made a significant impact in the GovCon space,” commented Jim Garrettson, CEO of Executive Mosaic and founder of the Wash100 award. “Under his guidance, Integral recently moved its headquarters to Northern Virginia, positioning the company at the heart of the action in one of the country’s most influential tech hubs. This strategic move, combined with their recent acquisition of Pragmatics, has set Integral up for continued growth and success.”

Enhancing Customer Focus

Integral Federal had previously been headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, but relocated to McLean, Virginia, in May 2024. With the move, the company sought to be closer to its customers and take advantage of the various benefits offered by Fairfax County, including its skilled workforce and community of industry leaders.

Regarding the effort, Wilkinson had said, “The decision to move our headquarters is driven by our dedication to enhancing customer focus. By establishing our presence closer to our customers, we aim to strengthen our relationships by having the opportunity for more frequent and meaningful interactions. We are excited for this new chapter of growth and collaboration.”

Expertise Infusion

That new chapter includes the acquisition of IT capabilities provider Pragmatics, which took place in November. Through the acquisition, Pragmatics’ personnel moved over to Integral, bringing with them their expertise in various fields, including Agile and DevSecOps in the cloud. The infusion of talent empowered Integral to better support mission-critical customer operations.

Commenting on the move, Wilkinson said, “We’re excited to mark this milestone in Integral’s growth. Bringing Pragmatics expertise into our team enhances our capacity to deliver comprehensive high-quality services. We look forward to driving further innovation and continuing to exceed customer expectations.”

Boosting Company Leadership

With Wilkinson at the helm, Integral took several other steps through 2024 to bolster its ability to better serve their customers. These steps include the promotion of Heather Gerczak, formerly the company’s senior vice president of business operations, to the position of chief administrative officer. The promotion, which took place in January, makes Gerczak responsible for various company functions like human resources, marketing and contracts and administration. Wilkinson said Gerczak’s leadership “ensures our continual success while exceeding expectations along the way.”

In May, soon after the relocation of its headquarters, the company appointed Amanda Windle as chief growth officer, making her responsible for its growth strategy, the expansion of its market presence and the identification of new business opportunities. At the same time, the company promoted Ben Johnston to the position of technology SVP and appointed John Humphrey to succeed Johnston as operations SVP.

Driving Operational Excellence

The company also announced the creation of the Office of Technology. Its role would be to handle the development of technology strategy as well as technology delivery. Johnston was installed to lead it.

For Wilkinson, the establishment of the new office, along with the new appointees, would help drive Integral’s growth and operational excellence. He also went on to articulate his aspiration for his company: “[To] advance as an industry leader in providing intelligence analysis and advanced digital solutions supporting national security.”

This outlook makes Wilkinson an excellent leader and a worthy recipient of the Wash100 Award.

“Wayne’s vision for the future is clear, and his leadership is making waves in the industry,” Jim Garrettson said, adding, “Welcome to the Wash100, Wayne!”
